Got to playing around with a theme that I am using over at another site and came up with a new one for the Wolfe site. Hope y’all like it.

Been trying to figure out a couple of things about the new version of Wordpress and think I have finally gotten my head wrapped around it enough to make the changes I was wanting.

I have changed the way the archives display in two different ways.

First is that they now display from oldest to newest so if you are reading the discussions tis top to bottom as it should be.

Second is that the entire posts show up rather than just an the first few lines.

Let me know if there are any problems with this. I hope this will work out better for most folks.

One other change I thinking about making is to limit the number of posts that show up on each page to 10 verses the 20 it is set to right now. Any comments or feedback on this move can be made in either comments or by email to depatty at gmail dot com.

*** Update – Seems that it didn’t auto start after all.  Early in the am and coffee had not kicked in with either of us yet. However, if anyone has any trouble with the site do let me know as there could be stuff broken that I’ve not found yet.

Have had one person say that one of the music files started when he came to the site. I’ve got them set with “autostart=false” but will move them off the front page if this is happening.

Anyone else who has this problem, PLEASE, let me know in comments (no login/signup required, comments are set so a moderator has to approve all) or email – depatty at gmail.com. Thanks, Dave.

At least the initial cleanup work is done, the new theme is installed and at least mostly configured. As you can see if you are reading this, the new header is done and wallpaper up. Most of the cobwebs have been cleaned out and I am working on polishing the last of the door knobs now. All of the existing posts that are on books I have, that are on the site, have been checked and cleaned up or redone. I still have a pile of books that I haven’t scanned and uploaded, yet, but am planning on doing them asap.

For now I’m going to make my daily post over at TechnoPrimitive.org which is my personal site, and then go to bed. Till tomorrow…

I originally posted all of the parodies, poems, limericks, and songs to pages (for some reason that completely escapes me at the moment) but am moving them to regular posts to allow them to be linked to a category rather than having to add a post to link a page and making the reader click multiple times to get to them. The pages will stay until I get them all moved and will then be deleted. Hope this is clear as mud to all y’all…

Getting it somewhat closer to what it was. Still got a lot more to get to before it’s where I would like it to be.

Have added Feedburner RSS feeds for the posts and comments mainly so I can track what goes on a bit better. Not that there is much activity here lately.

But speaking/typing about activity, I have a pile of books to scan, and am planning to get started on it soon. Of course looking back over the years at the times I have said the same thing it don’t look good for actually getting it done. But I do need to get it started and finished.

Is anyone that visits this site interested in buying Wolfe and other mystery books? I’ve got several tons of mystery (and other) books that I need to pare down a bit, or a lot, if I am gonna be honest here, and if there is any interest I’ll see if I can figure out how to put buy now links or some such on the posts of the ones I am willing to sell. All transactions will be via PayPal and shipping will be USPS unless otherwise requested/paid for. So give me some feedback + or – so I can get a general idea if it will be worth my time to scan and code or not.

Not dead yet. Just way too busy to do much online lately. Will try to get back to posting new covers later in the coming year.

Was putting some other stuff on here but ran into a database problem so am going to regroup and see what else I can do.

The nerowolfe.freeservers.com site has now has over 130,000 hits since December 8, 1999. Or thats what the counter shows. Didn’t realize it was that popular.

Hope this site will work out a bit better. It’s a whole lot easier for me to update. Now to get the rest of the Stout books scanned and into posts. I am running into a fair number of Wolfe that I am going to sell. Just got to get the paypal shopping cart links installed.

Tis late and I am about done in. Goodnight Nero. Goodnight Archie.

The first phase is over. All the existing covers are now here in the blog.

Next phase is to move the parodies.

Then will start scanning the current collection and adding for sale links to the titles we have for sale.

If the spam doesn’t get to bad I’ll leave the comments open to all. If it starts getting to be a problem I will have to limit them to members only.

Guess that’s about it for now. Started this madness yesterday and finished the first phase just before midnight so am about all in.
